Our Story
Think Artist CIC may have officially started in a classroom, but its heart was beating long before that.
In 2021, while working as a teacher, our founder, Armstrong Agoreyo , noticed something that troubled him: a fading spark of interest in art among his students. To many, it was just another lesson on the timetable, but Armstrong knew better. He knew that art isn't just a subject, it’s a lifeline, a way to speak when words aren't enough, and a tool for self-discovery.
What began as a small school competition in 2021 called "Art Explosion" has since blossomed into Think Artist, a social enterprise built on a single, powerful belief: that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. We are here to bridge that gap.
A Mission Born from the Heart
Armstrong’s commitment to this work is deeply personal. With nearly 15 years of experience in elementary education and a professional artist , he has seen firsthand how easily a child’s creative spirit can be dimmed.
As a child himself, he was discouraged from following his passion for art. Today, Think Artist is his way of being the voice of encouragement he once needed.
Having spent years working alongside schools, refugees, and the LGBTQ+ community, Armstrong transitioned from teacher to social entrepreneur to solve a problem he saw every day: art felt out of reach for too many. He set out to change that, making creativity accessible to those who are often overlooked.
What We Do Today
Today, we act as a creative bridge between the UK and Nigeria, fostering a community that knows no borders. We show up for our artists through:
A Stage to Shine:
We host international art contests and exhibitions, giving young people a platform to show the world what they are capable of.
A Place to Belong:
Through our workshops and global networks, we bring people together to share skills, stories, and cultural heritage.
A Borderless Canvas:
Our Think Art Festival is a completely free, virtual space. We believe that a person’s bank account or their location should never be the reason a masterpiece goes unseen.
